Creative Critical Reflection

"DON'T" Music Video

Image
This is my group and I's music video project. In fact this is our first and I can say it was not that bad. We have some improving to do over the months to do, most definitely. For the most part I would say despite the challenges that was have came across making this music video, there has never been a moment where we felt like giving up because we always found a way to get the work done. I am proud of what we have accomplished overall. This music video has a strong backstory that goes on a lot in society today. This is to open the light towards people not having respect for a relationship even friendship wise. This project was a bit different from the first project in many ways. The producing was more and the planning as well but all of this is for a good reason. I cannot wait to see my producing skills improve over the course of these next months to come!

Head to Head With The Finish Line

Editing went easier today. There was still a bit of touching up to do, video wise. Everything was already put together but we still had to make some tweaks to it. There was plenty of times where we discussed what we needed to change to make sure it looked at least decent. There also have been many improvements in our video. Including black and white transitions, adding sound effects and the pause button ,etc. This project has been a little bit of a challenge but nothing my group could not handle.

Forming THE Project

The editing portion of the project is now taking place. Although, I am not the one editing the actual video since we have decided to split up our parts as to what we are going to do. In our music video, it is going to consist of flashback scenes which would of course involve some transition effects like an in and out black & white scene. We have started of the music video on a black screen with the words "DON'T" on it and going right into the music video with texts back and forth between each of the actors. The transitions are pretty straightforward with nothing dramatic going on, the importance of the music video is the flashbacks so the audience can mainly grasp what is happening. The editing app being used is iMovie, an apple editing software.

We're slowly getting there.

Now is the time where we have to come up with a compatible timing for us all to get the project done in terms of recording/filming. We have chosen our song to be "Don't" by Bryson Tiller. Bryson Tiller is personally one of my favorites if I have to be honest. At this point in time we are brainstorming how we are going to get this done. Like we discussed how the music video will start off and which person will be doing what. As soon as we got that information everything else should be easy, the filming section of the project of course. We all came to the one decision of who is going to be in the music video and how everything is going to play out without a problem. Just to be safe we even came up with some backup plans just in case if things do not steer in the right direction we want it to.
